Hiatus

Sorry I haven't been posting. If I haven't been working, I've been applying for jobs. My lease is up in a month and I want to find a job relevant to my degree in psychology, preferably in the south. If anyone knows of any good companies, let me know! :)

Kelly Green/St. Pat's

I'm a big fan of the color green since I have green eyes and it makes my bland eyes pop. I went shopping yesterday and there were bright colors everywhere - especially green.. hallelujah!

I was actually shopping for St. Patrick's Day since I will be spending it in Chicago and my next couple weeks will be super busy. Maybe you're not Irish or a drinker, but you can still wear green so as not to get pinched!

Check out these hot green items:

1. Purse - H&M  2. Pants - Express  3. Pocket Jersey Dress - Old Navy  4. Heels - Lulus 5. Dress - Lulus

February Birchbox!

This is my second birchbox and I'm still really happy I subscribed. I had no idea there were so many types of brands of boxes out there, I want them all! Here is what was in my box - and yes, I know I need a new camera. Feel free to donate towards the cause :)

Ok, so I think my favorite part is opening the box. It is wrapped so pretty and is like getting a present in the mail.. even if I'm not thrilled with what's in it - it is still fun!

- Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint
- Benta Berry G-1 Moisturizing Face Cream (Ok, I tried this. Everything is so dry with winter and it does work well but not a fan of the berry scent. Reminds me of the nasty berry toothpaste at the dentist.)
- Supersmile Powdered Mouthrinse (Hmmm.. I don't understand the point of this one.)
- Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant
- Violent Lips Lip Tattoos (I got these in gold glitter and thought they were super weird at first but I'm pumped to wear them on St. Pat's! haha)

valentine's day

I catface you.
Usually I'm sad if I don't have a valentine but today I am surprisingly content. I think because last year was so crappy with a breakup on the day that I am just thankful that I don't have anyone causing me grief in my life anymore. This is the year about focusing on myself and making it better so happy single's awareness day! :)

Up next, birchbox and love swap!

valentine's day gifts

I love getting things in the mail besides bills so I signed up for a "Love Swap" this month. It's also making me look somewhat forward to the holiday knowing I will be getting a gift from someone besides my mom LOL. So the details of this swap are that you have to stay under $10. At first I thought, easy! But turns out, not so much. Here are some cheap ideas for your loved ones if you're trying to keep the costs low.

  1. While I love a romantic date out, I love a meal cooked at home even more. Check out this link and you won't even have to do the planning for this meal. Dinner For Two.
  2. Magazine Subscription - Whether it be for a child, man, woman.. there are always cheap subscriptions out there for everyone.
  3. Gift basket - I always see $50 gift baskets and think, "Why in the world do people pay that much?" I'm a big fan of making them on my own. You can put in anything you want, get a cheap dollar store basket/bucket, wrap some cellophane around it with ribbon and boom!
  4. Now that we have Pinterest in our lives - crafts are easy to find. Kids will even love it if you make the gift with them.

big game

Today a guy asked me, yes a guy, who is in the Super Bowl... I looked at him and said, "No, do you?"

I thought it was a trick question, like, if you get this right, you're cool. No, I don't know, and to be honest I don't really care. I did know Sunday is the SUPER BOWL but I'm working so it doesn't really matter to me. I'm a football fan, but to me, it is mostly about the beer, commercials and food. So for all of you who are like me and don't really care about the BIGGEST game of the year... here is some fun food for your parties!

1. Kickoff Pizza - Kraft Foods (easy and cute!)
2. Football Deviled Eggs - My Recipes
3. Chili and Grilled Cheese Footballs - Family Fun
4. Cheesy Football - Kraft Foods
5. Snackadium - A Brilliant Blogger
